Benoît Kounkoud joined the club's youth academy in 2014 following his outstanding performances with the La Source club in Reunion Island. He debuted in the Lidl Starligue a few months later, at the age of 17.
With France, the right-winger became European U20 champion (2014) then U21 world champion (2015). His rise was crowned by a call-up to Les Bleus for Euro 2016.
After a knee operation, he missed the second half of the 2018-2019 season. He is the oldest player in the Parisian squad after Mikkel Hansen.
