Born in the quiet town of Melk, Austria, the young Marina first played football on the banks of the Danube and more precisely at FK Hainburg from the age of seven, giving her a taste for the game that encouraged her to join ASK-BSC Bruck/Leitha six years later to finetune her development as a defender.
At just 15 years old, she signed her first professional contract with SKN St Pölten Frauen, where she won two Frauenliga titles and three Ladies Cups. Having broken into the professional game by this point and just turned 20, the young defender then crossed the border to join German side 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam. After one season, she went on to join SC Sand, spending four successful seasons there and making no fewer than 62 appearances.
Marina’s rise would take her all the way up to the Austrian national team, which she represented at EURO 2017 and at EURO 2022, and it was precisely in 2022 that her career took another turn, as she joined Paris Saint-Germain!
