Passionate about football despite being a late starter in the game, the native of Grenoble hit the ground running after getting her start with second-division side Claix at 16. She quickly moved up to the first division with Arras, before two successful seasons with Guingamp saw her claim the captain's armband aged just 20.

This lightning rise saw her inducted into France’s youth teams, with whom become a European U19 champion in 2013 (scoring the winner in the final) and then a bronze medallist at the U20 World Cup in 2014 (by scoring the winner in the third-place play-off).

In the summer of 2016, Aminata joined Paris Saint-Germain, where she honed her skills for two seasons, and joined the French senior team in the process. In the capital, she played 78 matches, scored two goals and won the Coupe de France in 2018.

In March 2020, the French international was loaned to Utah Royals FC (USA), and in January 2021 she moved to Atlético de Madrid, where she won the Spanish Supercup, before returning to the capital club in the summer of 2021.
