Born in Suzhou, to the west of Shanghai, Mengwen started her career when she was just 11 with her hometown club. Three years later, she joined Jiangsu LFC, to further develop her skills as a right-back. And it was with Gérard Prêcheur’s old club that she got her first taste of the Chinese top-flight, before going on to win it all: a league title, three National Cups (2017, 2018 and 2019), two League Cups (2018 and 2019) and a Chinese Supercup (2019).
An experience that saw her climb through the ranks of the Chinese national team, from the U17s to the U19s, before making her debut for the senior team at the Asian Games in Jakarta in 2018. With her national side, she has even been able to add to her impressive CV, picking up an Asian Cup winners’ medal in February 2022.
A perfect ascension before joining the club from the capital the following summer, to link back up with her former coach!
