A world football legend and a gem for Paris Saint-Germain, Formiga already boasted a remarkable career record before coming to the French capital in 2016: 7 World Cup participations and 25 matches in the final phase - a record across women’s and men’s football - 6 Olympics with 2 silver medals, and nearly 200 caps for Brazil. In 2010, she was also part of the Seleçao team that became South American champions, alongside future team-mates at Paris (Cristiane, Rosana, Erika).
Formiga is also about style, leadership, technique, game intelligence and an unstinting work ethic in the middle of the park. Indefatigable, the Brazilian extended her contract in the capital in the spring of 2020, after 17 professional seasons, at the age of 42.
