Sarah Bouhaddi: ‘There are no easy matches’

The coach of the Paris Saint-Germain Women’s team, Ashley Lawrence and Sarah Bouhaddi spoke to Canal Plus and the club’s media after the 2-1 victory over Fleury on Sunday 25 September at the Stade Georges Lefèvre in Saint-Germain-en-Laye on Matchday 3 of D1.

Gérard Prêcheur

"It was a difficult match. We lacked freshness physically, even mental freshness. It was a day where it wasn't Paris Saint-Germain at our best. But what I take away is that when we are struggling, and not performing to our full potential, we still manage to win. I don't believe in chance, it's a reward for all of the work and the professionalism of my players. Since the start of the season, we have played well, we are developing well and we needed a little extra push today and the goal came. In 48 hours, we fly to Sweden. The mental strength will be there to win."

Ashley Lawrence

"It was a difficult match, but we showed our mentality. It's important to win at the end of the match. As a group, we were very solid. We won the first leg against Häcken, we will bring all of the ingredients needed to win in the second leg. I am really thinking about Paulina, I hope that her injury is not too serious."

Sarah Bouhaddi

"There are no easy matches, especially when you play every three days. The start of the league has been difficult for all teams. The scores are all very close. The most important thing is to go and get the win because there is fatigue and things that we still need to work on. I am a competitor, I want to win every trophy. I am focused on what I do with Paris Saint-Germain."
