Viran and Rodri - European Champions!

On Sunday afternoon, Euro 2020 came to an end. As was the case in the last edition, in 2018, it is Spain - with our two Parisians, Rodrigo Corrales and Viran Morros - who won, after their victory in the final against Croatia (22-20).

The game was a extremely hard-fought affair for the full 60 minutes. Although La Roja were leading the dance, their opponents remained in the game for a long time. The Iberians were able to rely on their last line of defence, Gonzalo Perez de Vargas, who made a number of decisive saves, but also on the clinical finishing of right-winger Aleix Gomez, the match's top scorer with five goals from five attempts. Nevertheless, the final moments were tense as tense could be (59': 21-20), but it was Alex Dujshebaev's final strike that finally sealed the match.

This is Spain's fourth consecutive podium finish in the competition after third in 2014, second in 2016 and, of course, victory in the final over Sweden two years ago. So now we have two European Champions in the Paris Saint-Germain Handball ranks, with Viran (three goals in nine appearances) and Rodrigo!
