Record broken!

Thanks to their win over Istres (39-26) at Coubertin on Tuesday, Paris Saint-Germain Handball notched the best start to a season in the history of the French championship: Les Rouge et Bleu have won the first 20 games of their Lidl StarLigue season!

Paris Saint-Germain hosted Istres Provence Handball at the Stade Pierre-de-Coubertin in their rescheduled Round 11 clash. Raul Gonzalez's men won (39-26) - their 20th victory in as many games since the beginning of the 2020-2021 season.

Established at the time on the first 19 days, The previous record of 19 wins at the beginning of a season was set by Montpellier in 2011-2012 season. 

With ten games to go, the Parisians are currently leading the Lidl Starligue standings, with a four-point lead over Montpellier, the team they will host on Saturday in their Round 23 clash at Coubertin. Les Rouge et Bleu are in the running to win a seventh consecutive national title and improve on a record title-winning streak they have held outright since clinching a sixth straight title in 2019-2020.
