Luka Karabatic extends his contract with Paris

Paris Saint-Germain Handball is pleased to announce the extension of Luka Karabatic's contract for two more seasons. The pivot is now linked to the Club until 30 June 2024.

The current captain of the Parisian team arrived in the summer of 2015 and has won all five French championships since then, as well as three Coupes de la Ligue, two Coupes de France and two Trophées des Champions. The current Club captain has played 913 games and scored 623 goals in all competitions for Les Rouge et Bleu.

With France, the pivot has earned 112 caps and won two world championship titles (2015, 2017), a European championship title (2014) and a silver medal at the Rio Olympic Games (2016).

"This contract extension symbolises the attachment I feel for Paris Saint-Germain," said Luka Karabatic after putting pen to paper. "I am delighted to continue the adventure in the red and blue jersey. A very strong relationship has been built over the years with my managers, my coaches, my teammates and our fans. The confidence they have shown in me allows me to continue to grow. I am convinced that we will achieve great things and mark the history of the Club by winning new trophies."

"I am deeply happy to make official the extension of our captain," reacted Jean-Claude Blanc, Paris Saint-Germain's General Manager. "Beyond his extraordinary qualities - which make him one of the best pivots and defenders in the world - Luka Karabatic is an exemplary player. His commitment to the team is total, both on the pitch and in the dressing room. Our Club can be happy to have in its ranks an asset of this calibre, who will be able to guide our team in the conquest of new titles."
