Les Blues back on track with opening win
After two complicated Euro 2022 qualifiers Hainaut Serbia matches against Serbia, France got back to winning ways in their World Championship opener in Egypt, beating two-time runners-up Norway 24-28.
OUR PARISIANS IN THE MATCH
Valuable in defense, Luka Karabatic helped Les Bleus to keep cool in some tough moments. Quick to get back in defence, the Parisian captain also set an example by racing forward to score on the counter, and Nedim Remili soon followed suit. After coming off the bench, our right-back was able to alternate between assists and goals from set-pieces and counter-attacks. Nedim powered on to get his Wolrd Championship off to a strong start with a 4 from 6. Although Yann Genty didn't take part in the match, Vincent Gérard tested by several penalties and couldn't quite get the better of former teammate Sander Sagosen.
Les Bleus will face Austria this Saturday at 18:00 (match broadcast on beIN Sports 1 and TMC).
Today, Viran Morros and Ferran Sole's Spain take on Brazil at 18:00 (match broadcast on beIN Sports 3). Reigning World Champions Denmark, led by Mikkel Hansen, officially puts their title back back on the line against Bahrain at 20:30 (match not broadcast).
