France qualify for the main round

After getting the better of Norway, France rolled on by defeating Austria 35-28 on Saturday, thereby securing a second point and with it a place in the tournament's main round.

The performance of the evening was provided by Paris Saint-Germain Handball goalkeeper Vincent Gerard. With 17 saves at a rate of 39% as well as two goals, he clearly deserved be named Man of the Match.  Luka Karabatic was again crucial in defence and in front of goal (3 from 3), while Nedim Remili was in charge of distributing assists, the Parisian right-back setting up no fewer than six goals for his teammates. Yann Genty did not take part in the match. 
A good evening for France, who now assured of a place in the main round with a tally of at least 2 points.

COMING UP...

France will play a final match against Switzerland on Monday, doubtless with the intention of continuing their flawless run thus sarin the competition. A third win in a row would allow them to reach the main round with 4 points.
