Five things on Tremblay - PSG Handball

After the international truce, Paris Saint-Germain Handball will be back in the Lidl StarLigue on Wednesday late afternoon. On this occasion, he makes up for his match late counting for the 6th day, on the side of Tremblay.

Top vs bottom
With one or even two matches in hand, the TFHB currently occupies the last place in our championship, with a draw and three defeats from four games. They need points, especially as they have clashes with Nantes and Toulouse coming up in the wake of the visit of Paris Saint-Germain Handball. Meanwhile, for the capital club, everything is going great guns: they are in sole control of the Lidl Starligue table with six wins from as many matches, the last of which came ten days ago as they handily dealt with nearest rivals Limoges 42-20.

Tremblay's strong points
Chief among the Yellow and Blacks' key players is captain Patrice Annonay, who has a place on the Paris Saint-Germain Handball Hall of Fame after an 11-year stint in red and blue. And he still has it after all these years, with 37 saves made already this season. At the other end of the court, there is another familiar face in Henri Olsson, son of our former assistant coach, Staffan. Today, the 26-year-old Swedish centre-half is the top scorer in his team with 16 goals, but Tremblay coach Joël Da Silva (ex Saint-Raphaël), can also rely on other stalwarts such as Yosdany Rios, Luka Sebetic, Erwan Siakam or Mohamed Soussi to bring the danger.

Key stats
If it is difficult to make an assessment given the many postponements of matches since the beginning of the season, but we can nevertheless see that the Parisian attack is among the best in the Lidl StarLigue. They boast the most impressive ratio of goals to matches, scoring an average of 38 goals every time they take the court (228 in total). Defensively, things are also looking very good! Led by Vincent Gérard and Yann Genty, our rearguard have only conceded 25 goals per game (55 in total), just one more than the league's tightest defence - Istres. Note that Vincent tops the saves chart with no fewer than 68 stops.

Head-to-head
Historically, Paris Saint-Germain Handball have dominated the fixture, with 16 victories for only 9 defeats. At the Palais des Sports, the record is much more balanced, and the capital club had to wait until their seventh trip to prevail in the fixture - a win clinched with a 5 from 5 from Mladen Bojinovic on 19 December 2012. Since 11 December 2019 (32-41), the Parisians have a winning record in Tremblay (7-6).
