Paris prevail

After a week-long international break, Paris Saint-Germain Handball were back in Lidl StarLigue action on Wednesday evening, playing their rescheduled Rond 6 match away to Tremblay. Despite sitting atop the standings, Les Rouge et Bleu had to be wary against the competition's bottom side, as Elohim Prandi had noted before the match

As expected, Paris Saint-Germain Handball's regional rivals showed some hearty resistance in the first few minutes and thunderous start from Ferran Solé was needed to allow the capital club to make the break (7': 3-5). The Spanish right-winger was involved in all Paris's dangerous passages of play and it was he who concluded a classy counter-attack to put his side even further in front.

Raul Gonzalez's men had taken the game in hand; in addition to being effective in attack, they were solid in defence, with Elohim Prandi tracking back to stop a certain goal (13': 6-8) and Luka Karabatic parrying a penalty (15': 6-9). And, when Tremblay managed to get past our defenders, they still had to deal with the imperious Yann Genty (17': 7-10)! But it was the skilful Ferran who kept Paris in the lead with his relentless attacks on the Tremblay goal!

However, the game was still far from over... The locals managed to get back on track just before the break, thanks to Pedro Portela, who took two bites at his penalty (28': 14-14) to send the sides into the dressing rooms on level pegging.

After the break, the match remained an even contest, the two sides duking it out goal for goal (34': 18-18). As soon as one side took the lead, the other hit back immediately (36': 20-20). After Raul's time-out, the Parisians regained the upper hand (41': 22-24), but the game of cat and mouse quickly returned. As the final minutes approached, the match could clearly still have gone either way (46': 25-26).

However, in the final ten minutes, Les Rouge et Bleu managed to carve out some breathing space for themselves. More focused in defence, they had the precision of Dainis Kristopans to thanks for regaining their four-point lead (53': 27-31). Among their long-range sharp-shooters was of course Elohim, who brought the power once again (55': 28-32). Paris were in the lead, but weren't out of danger as Les Jaune et Noir hit back in the final seconds (57': 29-32). To keep them at bay, Elo continued his assault (58': 29-33)!

A few moments later, Paris Saint-Germain Handball clinched their win, maintaining their perfect start to the season with a seventh win from as many outings!
