Verratti's Italy through to the quarter finals!

The Squadra Azzurra were victorious against Austria after extra-time in the Round of 16 of Euro 2020 (2-1).

After three wins and just as many clean sheets against Turkey (3-0), Switzerland (3-0) and Wales (1-0) in the group stage, the Squadra Azzurra carried on their winning start, despite making it difficult against Austria (2-1).

The Italian side struggled this Saturday night at Wembley, not being able to get the win during the 90 minutes of normal time. They were finally able to score twice in extra time to send the Nazional through despite conceding their first goal in Euro 2020.

Marco Verratti, who'd already made his return against Wales, started in Roberto Mancini's line up, before being replaced by Locatelli in the 67th minute.

The midfielder and his teammates will face the winners of the other round of 16 between Belgium and a Portugal side featuring his club mate Danilo Pereira, that will take place on Sunday night at 21:00. Their quarter final will take place on Friday 2 July at 21:00 in Munich.
