Stats & Facts: A look back at the win over Troyes

Match in numbers

Check out the key numbers and stats from Les Parisiens’ 4-3 win over ESTAC at the Parc des Princes on Matchday 13 of Ligue 1 yesterday.

un, deux, "Troyes"

It was a prolific game at the Parc des Princes on Saturday, just a few days after the nine-goal encounter against Maccabi Haifa, with Troyes becoming the first team to score three goals away to Paris in Ligue 1 since Bordeaux on 23rd February 2020 (another 4-3 win for PSG). No team had taken the lead twice in the same top-flight game against Paris at the Parc des Princes since Rennes on 17th November 2012.

THE MATCH REPORT

With the opener going in after 2 minutes and 14 seconds, it was the earliest goal that Paris had conceded at home in Ligue 1 since 26th September 2018, when current Troyes man Xavier Chavalerin scored for Reims after 1 minute and 50 seconds. That was before Paris's attacking trio set the game alight, however...

Messi, Neymar AND Mbappé move into sixth gear

As well as setting the game alight, they also had a quick reply to both goals scored by Troyes's Mama Baldé. At least one of Les Rouge et Bleu's attacking trio has been directly involved in each of Paris's last 25 goals in all competitions, with the last goal to have been scored by a different player and without an assist for any of the three being Nuno Mendes's strike against Nantes in Ligue 1 on 3rd September 2022.

With more and more chemistry being created between them, Kylian Mbappé, Lionel Messi and Neymar Jr all scored in the same Ligue 1 game for the third time on Saturday, following on from the matches at home to Lorient on 3rd April and away to Lille on 21st August.

Finally, Messi has both scored and assisted in three consecutive games across all competitions for both club and country for the first time since his four-game run in this respect between December 2017 and January 2018. He also scored his fourth goal from outside the box this season (as well as his fourth this October) against Troyes – the joint-highest tally of any player in Europe's top five leagues across all competitions, alongside Federico Valverde.

a Soler ECLIPSE and a rock-solid Ramos

Having scored his second goal for Paris just days after getting his first in the Champions League, Carlos Soler is certainly getting his bearings! In fact, the midfielder is the first player other than Messi, Neymar and Mbappé to score for PSG in two successive games across all competitions this season.

Carlos is also the seventh Spanish player to score for Paris Saint-Germain in Ligue 1 since 2011, following in the footsteps of Yuri Berchiche, Juan Bernat, Ander Herrera, Jesé, Sergio Ramos and Pablo Sarabia (with Fabián Ruiz hopefully the next!). Only Brazil are better-represented as a country among the club's foreign players in this respect, with ten Brazilians having netted for the capital club in the same time period.

Finally, Ramos himself has beaten a record, as the 36-year-old hasn't lost a single one of his first 30 matches for Paris in all competitions. He thereby overtakes Raí, who was unbeaten in his first 29 games for PSG.
