Mukiele: 'The win is dedicated to the fans and Presnel'

Paris Saint-Germain coach Christophe Galtier and defender Nordi Mukiele spoke to PSGTV after the Classique 3-0 away win over Marseille in Ligue 1 on Sunday.

Christophe Galtier

"We're very happy. We needed to win to extend our lead at the top of the standings. We knew the results of Lens and Monaco. We knew that by winning here, we would have a significant gap over the chasers. But obviously, the championship was not decided tonight. We also had to show a reaction to our supporters after the Coupe de France defeat. They pushed us to get the win against Lille, and were there again this week at training, at the Parc, to encourage us. We obviously dedicate this victory to them, I know they will be happy and proud. It is a deserved result. It's deserved by the way we played, with a lot of intensity, a fast pace, a lot of grinta, but also a lot of technical precision. Kylian is an important offensive weapon, with his runs in behind, but the return to a formation we had worked a lot during the first four months of the season was also a great success tonight.

"Kylian's 200th goal? First and foremost, we acknowledge Edison Cavani, who was a great striker for Paris-Saint-Germain. To equal this record is a great performance. We suspect that he will go on to beat it, but I don't know if he was planning to equal the record tonight. What I do know is that he was focussed on doing everything for the team to win and that's the most important thing."

NORDI MUKIELE

"It's magnificent! Winning 3-0 here at the Velodrome is magnificent, especially after losing in the Coupe de France. To win 3-0 tonight, it's very important. We played very well from beginning to end. Despite the injury to Presnel, I think this victory is dedicated to the fans and also to Presnel. To come injured like that is very tough during a Classique, especially since he was just coming back from injury. But I'm very proud of the team, and of our performance. The victory is dedicated to the fans because they helped us do it, especially during the open training session on Friday. So many came out to support us and we paid them back by winning 3-0 here in Marseille. My performance? First of all, I was happy to be available again. I am very happy to be back on the field, even if I was not 100%. What I had in me, what I could give, I left it all on the field, I tried to give the maximum. But today, we won 3-0, we didn't concede a goal. It's very important, we needed the clean sheet. And the most important thing is that we played a very big game tonight."
