Marco Verratti: 'A title is always emotional...'

The Paris Saint-Germain midfielder looks ahead to a potentially big night at the Parc des Princes against Strasbourg on Sunday.

MARCO, SERIAL GOALSCORER?
"I've had a funny week with scoring two goals, because I'm not used to scoring. In today's football, it's also important to make a difference in front of goal. I was especially happy to score in a Coupe de France semi-final. We laughed about it with the coach: he's always telling me to shoot more. It's true I usually make others score, but against teams that defend deep, there's not much space and you have to chance your arm. I haven't necessarily changed, but I hope to keep scoring."

THE TITLE IN SIGHT
"For me, it's always emotional to win a trophy. We have put in a lot of effort, and we can achieve our objective on Sunday. It would be good to win it on Sunday, to celebrate it with our fans, at the Parc. A trophy always has the same flavour, it's magnificent to win, especially a league title, which is long and difficult with 38 games. For some, it might look easy from the outside, but we know the effort we put in on a daily basis to get this many points in Ligue 1. In our first 29 matches, we have been focussed every time, just losing once."

THE SQUAD'S MOTIVATION
"I love football, I'll never play a game without being motivated. Football is what I love most in life, so for me it's inconceivable. In Paris, we have understood that well: we always play to win. The team is used to this thirst for winning, even playing cards Thiago Silva or Dani Alves, for example, never accept losing. We've all got that competitive mentality."

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE DISAPPOINTMENT
"The only regret is this defeat to Manchester United in the Last 16 second leg. It was a bizarre match for us, we dominated, but conceded three goals with mistakes we could have avoided. The coach has been here for just eight months, but we have already done some great work together. In the group stage, we finished top of a very tough group ahead of Liverpool and Napoli. After that, we had to do without Ney, our best player, you just have to look at the stats...I love this team, we can go far together with a little more concentration. We have to stay clear-headed because the very top level is decided on small details."

HIS FUTURE
"I've always said I feel really good here. I've been here for seven years, and I still have the same desire, just the like the first day. I feel good at this club, with my teammates, I have faith in the project. I have two years left on my contract, we'll see with the club about extending my contract, but one thing is certain: I'd like to stay in Paris a long time."
