Marco Asensio: "I can't wait"

MARCO, HOW DO YOU FEEL AFTER SIGNING FOR PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN?

"I'm very happy to be here, to be at this big club. I'm looking forward to meeting my new teammates, seeing the training centre, and meeting the fans. I can wait for the season to start."

AFTER SEVEN SEASONS WITH REAL MADRID, WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO JOIN PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN?

"Because Paris are a great club, a big project, an attractive and ambitious project. And that corresponds to what I needed: a change of environment, but still with an ambitious project. That's what I wanted, and I think it's the ideal place for me, to play, to enjoy it, and to win a lot of trophies."

YOU KNOW QUITE A FEW OF THE PLAYERS HAVING PLAYED WITH THEM AT INTERNATIONAL LEVEL. DID YOU TALK TO THEM BEFORE MAKING THE MOVE?

"Yes, I spoke to some teammates to get them to tell me about the club, the atmosphere, the fans. They said so many good things about the supporters and that's also one of the reasons I made this choice."

DO YOU KNOW LIGUE 1? WHAT DO YOU THINK OF OUR LEAGUE?

"I would say it's a competitive league with a lot of physical intensity, but also a lot of talented players. Everyone knows French players are very talented. That's a bit of what I know about Ligue 1."

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOURSELF AS  A PLAYER? WHAT ARE YOUR QUALITIES?

"I'm a player that likes to go forward, who likes to have the ball, to make assists and score goals. As for my strengths, I think my shot and my vision."

WHAT ARE YOUR INDIVIDUAL AND COLLECTIVE GOALS?

"The collective goals are to win every trophy possible. This is a great team, a big club. I've come here to play already, and I've seen the great fans, the fantastic atmosphere in the stadium. I think it's crucial to have that link between the fans and team. From a personal point of view, it's a new challenge, a new league. I have a lot of determination and ambition. And now I'm looking forward to discovering all that and hoping it goes well."

"I'm very happy to join Paris Saint-Germain. I'm looking forward to discovering the city, to meeting you all, and learning French. I'll give everything for the club. I'm certain we can win trophies."
