Stats & Facts: A look back at a historic final
Discover the key figures and standout moments from Paris Saint-Germain’s triumph in the UEFA Champions League final against Inter Milan (5–0) on Saturday 31 May 2025, at the Munich Football Arena.
HEROIC PArisians
Against Inter Milan, our Rouge et Bleu didn’t just write their own history, they also rewrote the history of the competition. With a five-goal margin (5–0), Paris recorded the biggest victory ever in a UEFA Champions League final.
The success of Luis Enrique’s men took shape fairly early in the match. Thanks to goals from Achraf Hakimi and Désiré Doué, the club from the capital became the first team ever to score twice within the first 20 minutes of a Champions League final.
A testament to the strength of the Rouge et Bleu squad: seven Paris players were involved in at least five goals during this Champions League campaign - Ousmane Dembélé, Achraf Hakimi, Bradley Barcola, Désiré Doué, Nuno Mendes, Fabián Ruiz and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. A record for a single season, matched only by Bayern Munich (2019–2020) and Manchester City (2021–2022).
A ruthless attack
Once again crucial in this final, leading all Paris players in the number of presses (55), Ousmane Dembélé capped off a sensational campaign. Involved in 14 goals on the European stage this season (8 goals, 6 assists), the Rouge et Bleu forward set a new record for a player from a French club in a single UEFA Champions League campaign.
But it wasn’t just Paris’s attacking line that lit up the competition. With four goals and five assists in this European journey, Achraf Hakimi contributed to nine of the club from the capital’s goals: the highest total ever recorded by a defender in a single Champions League season, tying the record set by Ian Harte (Leeds United FC) in the 2000–2001 season.
BORN TO SHINE
On Saturday, the average age of the club from the capital’s starting eleven was 25 years and 96 days: the third youngest line-up in the history of Champions League finals.
More than ever, Paris’s youth showcased the full extent of its talent on the world stage. Scorer of the final goal, Senny Mayulu became, at 19 years and 14 days old, the third-youngest goalscorer in a UEFA Champions League final.
Named Man of the Match thanks to his brace and assist, Désiré Doué became the first player under 20 years old to be decisive at least three times in a knock-out game. Achieving this feat in a final highlights the courage and dedication of our Rouge et Bleu, who on Saturday 31 May 2025, forever etched their names in football history.
