Christophe Galtier: 'Have more determination to win at Marseille'

The Paris Saint-Germain coach gave his thoughts ahead of Sunday's Ligue 1 Classique.

A TITLE DECIDER?

"It's an important game, the two teams are very close in the league table. More than the game, and the Coupe de France match we lost a few weeks back, it's an important game, but I don't think the title will be decided on Sunday. There's a lot of games to go, but a Paris Saint-Germain victory would be welcome."

PARIS FAVOURITES?

"I can't say we are or they are. There was that Coupe game that they won. To be favourites, we would have needed to be in a different dynamic. There are reasons to be optimistic from our recent games, but we have to do it over the 90 minutes. We'll have to have a very high level of play. They'll be pushed on by their fans. We'll have to raise our game and be better than we have been in recent weeks."

A REVENGE MATCH?

"There's no revenge for me personally. I just want to prepare the team as well as possible. My players perhaps feel it a little more. I have players with a lot of pride, and they still have that Coupe game in mind."

THE KEYS TO THE MATCH

"We'll have to win our challenges, play through the pressing and play more often in behind them, which was something lacking in the Coupe game. We're going to have that possibility with Kylian, but we'll have to find other solutions with other players. We'll also have to have more determination to be better in Marseille."

OPEN TRAINING AT THE PARC

"It had been planned for some time as our fans cannot travel to the Stade VĂ©lodrome. They are exceptional. They support us even in the most difficult times. Against Lille, they pushed the team to go and get the win. The training session was a great experience with families, the Ultras, employees, all the PSG family present."

THE SQUAD'S STRENGTH

"We're a group of competitors. I have players that are used to battling to get results. They're players who never give in. I see that every time they have to go out and get something, they are used to doing that. The youngest ones follow the example set by those who know how to do that. We can lose games, but when we don't give everything, it can be worrying. That's what I ask of my players, to give everything."

THE SQUAD

"Achraf took part in some of the session, he'll do the whole session tomorrow. We'll make a decision on whether he plays the Classique or not. Nordi is a lot better. He's worked a lot, and isn't far off pushing for a starting role again given the way things have progressed."
