All eyes on the Classique!

Paris Saint-Germain will head to Marseille this weekend for the Classique on Sunday at 20:45 at the Stade Velodrome.

After a stunning 4-3 victory over Lille, Christophe Galtier's men were given two days off to recharge their batteries. A precious break in the middle of this hellish schedule.

After recovering, the Parisians returned to training on Wednesday with the Classique in their sights, a pivotal match for the rest of the season. Two weeks after their defeat in Marseille in the Coupe de France, it was the determined Rouge et Bleu who began these four days of preparation for this long awaited match.

Needless to say, the Classique is a special match. Especially when it could be decisive for the French Championship title. With 57 points, Paris are still top of the table and have a five-point lead over second-placed Marseille. The club from the capital will have to take the three points back to Paris to avoid losing precious points and risk seeing Olympique de Marseille close in on the top spot.

The club from the capital is solid away from home and are on a run of three consecutive clean sheets at the Velodrome in the league, a performance that the Rouge et Bleu defence will try to repeat this weekend.

In this 105th Classique, Achraf Hakimi and captain Marquinhos could make their return after missing the game against Lille, with Marqui aiming for a 100th victory with the Parisian armband!

Finally, a historic record could be set by Kylian Mbappé should he bag a brace: that of the best scorer in the club's history. With 198 goals for the Rouge et Bleu, only two goals separate him from Edinson Cavani's record.

The game promises to be absolutely electric!
