Ulrich Ramé: 'The squad showed strength'

Ulrich Ramé, General Manager of Paris Saint-Germain Women's team, spoke to PSGTV before Wednesday's clash with Bayern Munich in the second leg of the UEFA Women's Champions League quarter-finals.

Tomorrow's game at the Parc des Princes is a very important one. How do you feel about this match?
"The victory at the Allianz Arena was very good for us. We're starting with a psychological advantage. The prospect of playing at home at the Parc in front of a record audience of more than 25,000 fans is an advantage. Our players are very sensitive to this. We're approaching the game with great ambitions."

The season is long and the Club is still engaged in every competition. How do you mentally approach the end of the season?
"The victories give us a lot of confidence. We went and won in Munich last week. This weekend, we managed to come back from two goals down against Fleury to win another Coupe de France final. We have two very important matches this week, against Munich and then against PFC. After the break next week, we will enter the final stretch. The squad has shown strength, character and resilience and that's what we're going to need to go after titles. They are great competitors and have responded to situations as they arise."

The results have been good, despite some off-field turbulence since the beginning of the season. How do you explain this?
"We have indeed experienced an unprecedented event. From the beginning, the Club has taken an assumed position: to allow our players to return to competition in normal conditions as soon as possible. This is obviously not easy every day, but we are determined to do it week after week. We have taken a series of measures with the staff and players, so that the group can maintain a level of results and performances that allow us to consider the position in which it is today: competing on all levels."
