The Parisians win the derby and get back to the top of the table!

Olivier Echouafni players were victorious in the derby against Paris FC (2-3), in matchday 19 of D1 Arkema.

The Paris Saint-Germain women's team were back in domestic action in a Parisian derby at the top of the table against Paris FC. The goal was clear for the Rouge et Bleu: regain first place in the league. Without Kadidiatou Diani and Formiga, Olivier Echouafni lined up with a very attacking side in a 4-4-2 formation.

It's with a determined and high pressing style that Paris Saint-Germain set out in the derby. From the off, Grace Geyoro and her teammates pressed high and put their opponents under pressure with pace and movement. After two chances for Signe Brunn after nice build-up play (12', 19'), it was the Dane who broke the deadlock from a Sara Däbritz corner that was deflected by Paulina Dudek by volleying home (0-1, 22').

Focused, Olivier Echouafni's players created many chances on Nnadozie's goal. Signe Brunn had a big chance (24') and the omnipresent Sara Däbritz hit the post (32'), the Rouge et Bleu were looking dangerous but remained serious defensively.

Paris Saint-Germain were still dangerous after the break through Marie-Antoinette Katoto (49'), but the PFC players tried to fight back showing their athleticism. But the Parisians didn't let go despite the opponents attacks (52, 54')! They needed to find something to deny the fightback and they managed to do so with a dangerous Katoto. After a burst of pace down the middle, the striker won a penalty that Sara Däbritz tucked home without thinking twice (0-2, 67'). After that Signe Brunn scored her second thanks to a beautiful pass by MAK (0-3, 72').

There were some worries in the final few moments as the locals fought back. Catala scored a penalty (1-3, 79') - then Sow found the net(2-3, 90+2'), but Olivier Echouafni's players were able to contain the PFC until the final whistle. Paris Saint-Germain were victorious in the derby and are back at the top of the table four games from the end of the season ahead of an exciting run in. Mission accomplished.
