Olivier Echouafni: 'Let's go get the title'

Before the rescheduled meeting with Paris FC, coach Olivier Echouafni gave his thoughts on the exciting finale to the season.

Olivier, what shape are the players in?
"Kadidiatou Diani still isn't back, unfortunately. It's the end of the season, and this season has been particularly long and intense. We've had very high-level matches since the summer and we're trying to find the right balance between training sessions, matches and recovery. So Kadi won't be there tomorrow, nor will Formiga. She took a big blow to the head and we prefer to let her rest as a precaution. We'll see how they progress day by day and not look too far ahead. We want have them back with us as soon as possible. We want to have everything on our side that we can to be able to go and get the title."

How have these last few days been since the return from Barcelona?
"The players had a day off on Monday, and got back to training on Tuesday afternoon. They had some treatment because high intensity games like those on Sunday naturally leave their mark. We had to treat all of that."

And now you have a derby coming up tomorrow...
"A derby is always difficult, and it's never easy to play Paris FC. We've got five weeks left, five games, five finals, but we want to get our place back that we've lost due to having games in hand."

It's an opponent you know well...
"We've played them four times this season, three in pre-season and once in the league. It's true that with COVID, we had to organise friendlies and we could do that with Paris FC. We had some good encounters. They've also been affected by the virus with absent players, matches postponed...They've since managed to build up good momentum."
