The Parisians impress against Dijon!

The Paris Saint-Germain women's team won 3-0 against Dijon at the Stade Gaston-Gérard on Sunday 31 October 2021, in matchday 7 of the D1 Arkema.

After a week's international break, the French champions travelled to Burgundy and returned to league action this afternoon. For the match, the women's coach Didier Ollé-Nicolle put together an attacking starting eleven composed of Diani, Baltimore and Katoto in attack. Elisa De Almeida replaced Amanda Ilestedt, who was ill, in the starting line-up at the last minute.

The Parisians showed their determination right from the start, with Sakina Karchaoui's effort just inches wide of the target (7’). Dijon responded with several shots that were saved by Barbora Votíková (22'). Two minutes later, the Parisian attacks paid off and Kadidiatou Diani opened the score with a beautiful header (1-0, 24'). The Parisians were in the lead at the break.

Paris came back from the break with the same intentions. A few minutes into the second half, they made the breakthrough thanks to a Goetsch own goal from a Sandy Baltimore's cross (2-0, 58'). In the following minutes, Katoto scored the third goal of the match, again from a nice ball from Baltimore (3-0, 60'). In the final minutes, a penalty was awarded to the Parisian club after a foul on Ramona Bachmann, but the captain on the day Sara Däbritz failed to hit the target.  The score remained the same until the end of the match.

The Franciliennes continue their flawless record with a seventh win in as many matches in the D1 Arkema.

This latest success bodes well for Paris, who will begin preparations for the third round of the UEFA Women's Champions League against Real Madrid on 9 November at the Parc des Princes.
