Sara Däbritz: "Conscious of our potential"
With the Parisians back at work, and only 3 days to go until the game against Guingamp in Round 1 of D1 Arkema, the German international spoke about the spirit in the squad, and looked forward to the challenges to come.
Sara, what's the spirit in the squad ahead of the new season?
"The first days back, we were very sad, because we wanted to play the Champions League final, but we lost against Lyon. The new season is starting and we want to advance and progress, notably by winning the first match, and then having a beautiful season."
We sense the squad is very united..
"The squad worked very well in pre-season. We progressed a lot as the training sessions and weeks went by. There's also a very good atmosphere in the squad, the spirit is good as we prepare to restart in the league. The team is very strong and now we need to prove that on the field."
The season is starting up again soon and we can sense the excitement...
"I have a very good feeling about the upcoming season. The Champions League was a real disappointment, but we want to perform well in all the competitions we'll play in in the months to come. We need to keep working hard, focusing on the future and achieve our objectives, that is to win trophies."
What are the objectives for the season?
"Clearly, we want to win the league. We know there are still a few small details to be sorted out and we need to start the season well on Saturday against Guingamp. We're conscious of our potential and we are capable of achieving great things."
