Lightning start for the Women's team

The women's team opened their league season with a 4-1 win against Guingamp that saw them maintain the form they showed over the summer.

Coupe de France semi-finalists last season, Guingamp hoped to catch the Parisians coming out the blocks slowly, but they were to be disappointed. Determined and disciplined, Olivier Echouafni's team came through in style.

The Bretons did manage to keep the hosts out in the first half, despite the Parisians creating a number of opportunities.

The visitors weren't able to deny Echouafni's side for long as Kadidiatou Diani orchestrated a comfortable win. She opened the scoring from Sara Däbritz's cross with a close-range header (1-0, 56'). She then found Marie-Antoinette Katoto with a cross inside the box, and she added the second (2-0, 71').

Guingamp reduced the deficit (2-1, 75'), but it only spurred the Parisians to step up a gear. Diani - this time teed up by MAK - gave her side breathing room (3-1, 77e). She then smashed in number four to cap the win and her hat-trick (4-1, 86').

A trip to Bordeaux next Sunday now faces the Rouge-et-Bleu for their second league match of the campaign.
