Sakina Karchaoui: "It bodes well for the future"

Coach Jocelyn Prêcheur and Sakina Karchaoui spoke to PSG TV after the Parisians' emphatic 8-1 victory over Bordeaux on Saturday, Matchday 13 of the D1 Arkema.

Jocelyn PrĂȘcheur

"Scoring the first goal is important when a team is waiting for you deep and you have to find a way through. They put up a good fight at the start, and after the first goal we were able to free ourselves up and really take control of the game. We had a very good first half, but we relaxed a bit in the second and there was a little lack of discipline, which bothered me a little bit, but obviously the overall assessment of the match was very positive.
We set ourselves the target of the first four matches to get everyone in the best possible shape, so we've really been able to share out the playing time. The idea is to have a squad that's as ready as possible for all the fixtures, and there are a lot of them, so it's going to be important.

It has to be said that we feel good at Campus PSG. There's also something you don't realise from the outside or on television, and that's that beyond the stadium there's also the quality of the pitch. When we want to develop our game, it's a very important factor for us, and the fact that we're playing on a pool table inevitably helps us to play. So it's an important factor."

Sakina KarchAoui

"We definitely did the hard part by scoring the first goal against a very tough Bordeaux team, and we knew it wasn't going to be easy. They fought hard and we scored 8 goals, so it's good for the team's confidence and good for the players who scored too. We'll be forgiving for the goal we conceded, we'll look at it again, but it bodes well for the future.
We're a group, so it's good to give importance to all the players, and that's what the coach is doing well. It's good for the team spirit, for consistency and for the UEFA Women's Champions League coming up on Wednesday.

The new training centre? It's a magnificent campus. We enjoy being here, but we also have to play well and put in good performances, and that's what we did today."
