Nadia Nadim signs with Paris Saint-Germain until the end of the season

Paris Saint-Germain are happy to announce the arrival of Nadia Nadim to the women's team senior squad. The Danish forward has signed on from Manchester City through to 30 June 2019.

Nadim, 30, is an Afghan-born naturalised Dane who made her professional debut at Danish club IK Skovbakken (2006-2012) before signing for Denmark's biggest club Fortuna Hjorring (2012-2015). She then made the move to American club Sky Blue FC for a season (24 matches, 13 goals) before returning to Fortuna on loan (2015-2016). In 2016, she returned to America but this time with a new club - Portland Thorns FC, with whom she won the NWSL Shield in her first year (2016) before taking the league title in 2017, scoring 15 goals in 37 appearances. From January to December 2018, the Dane was back in Europe, turning out for Manchester City (15 matches, four goals).

Since 2009, the forward has been a regular in the Danish national team. Nadia Nadim has a record of 85 caps and 29 goals, along the way making it to the final of Euro 2017 in the Netherlands.

"I'm very happy to join Paris Saint-Germain," declared Nadim after putting pen to paper. "Paris Saint-Germain is a huge European club with which I hope to win many titles. It's a team with a lot of ambition and a lot of talented players. I'm convinced that here I will find the perfect environment in which to shine both in France and internationally."

"Nadia Nadim is a great forward," underlined Bruno Cheyrou, Paris Saint-Germain Women's sporting director. "We're thrilled to have her in our ranks for the rest of the season. She's an experienced player who will be invaluable for us given the big clashes we have coming our way in the second half of the season. Her international experience will help our squad develop even further."
