Lieke Martens: "This team has great potential"
The coach of the Paris Saint-Germain women's team and Lieke Martens spoke about the 2-0 victory over Soyaux on Friday 9 September at the Stade Georges Lefèvre in Saint-Germain-en-Laye in the first matchday of the D1.

"I thought it was a great game with two great teams. It was quite attractive football. Both teams played attacking football. We were more focused on possession and use of space and Soyaux were very combative in a good way and relied on the counter. I think it was an enjoyable game for the fans. It's important because we need the fans. We have spent a lot of this preparation period on the foundations of our game, we are just starting today with the late return from the national teams. I didn't take any risks with any of my players who were called up for selection. I consider that the first role of a coach is to ensure the well-being of his players."
LIEKE MARTENS
"I think we could have scored more goals, we are just starting the season and we still have to make some adjustments. This team has a lot of potential. I scored my first goal in the league and I'm happy about that. I have a good team behind me that helps me and allows me to score. Tonight we will rest, celebrate our first win and then from tomorrow we will analyse our next opponent."
