Jennifer Echegini: "Pay attention to every detail"
Paris Saint-Germain striker Jennifer Echegini spoke to PSG TV about the Arkema Première Ligue Matchday 6 clash with Olympique Lyonnais at Groupama Stadium on Sunday 3 November 2024 (2pm). Excerpts.
Joe, how are you, and how have the last few days been?
"I'm feeling good after the international break. I didn't join up with the national team because I was struggling with an injury, so I stayed in Paris to be ready for the resumption. I had to take care of that, and it also gave me a chance to rest mentally, so I'm now completely ready to look ahead to the next few matches."
How do you feel about your adventure at PSG since your arrival?
"I'm very happy here, and it's an honour to play for a club like PSG. Working in this environment, on the Campus, and being part of this team, I can only be grateful. I think I've progressed since I've been playing alongside such talented players. We're playing top-level matches, and we can't wait for what's to come."
What does it mean to you to be a Paris Saint-Germain player today?
"Playing in this shirt is incredible. This is a club with a rich history, with plenty of success, one that's had some incredible players over the seasons. It's a shirt that demands a certain level of commitment, and you have to live up to expectations every time you pull it on. It's an honour to wear it, and an honour to be able to say that you have played or are playing for PSG. It's really cool!"
On Sunday, you have a clash against Lyon to look forward to...
"Lyon are a great team and a formidable opponent. We need to have confidence in our qualities, work hard and make as few mistakes as possible. We need to play together and be effective up front. Those will be the most important factors going into this game. We'll also have to pay attention to every detail, and do our best!"
