"Dear Paris..." - A letter from Nadia Nadim
After extending her contract with Paris Saint-Germain through to 2021, Nadia Nadim wrote a letter, dedicated to the city of Paris and its football club.
Dear Paris,
Since I was a child, Paris have always been a symbol for something beautiful, elegant and spiritual. A city that share’s the same values as myself. A city that I feel to protect at all costs.
Therefore, it was a dream coming thru for me when I in January 2019 signed for Paris Saint Germain. I got the chance of living in the beautiful city of Paris, and representing one of the best clubs in the world.
From the first day in Paris, the city of Paris and the French people have taken me in as one of their own, and I have enjoyed every single second of it.
Everything in my daily life has been amazing since moving to Paris. Im not exaggerating when I say that I have been living my dream for the past one and a half year. From when I wake up in the morning, until I go to bed in the evening, I’ve spent everyday with a smile on my face, in a way that I never experienced before. Finally Im enjoying life to the fullest.
I have Paris to thank for that.
My professional experience as a player of Paris Saint Germain has been very good.
We have something good going on for the coming seasons. We have not yet reached our goals, but we’re on the way there. Everyone from the kit manager to the club Excecutives are all doing their best to achieve success. We have a goal that everyone fights for.
The club shows great confident in me as a player and as a person, and I feel very valued in everything I do, on and off the field. I was honored to be given the role as the vice-captain for this season, something that gave me great pride as a player.
This season, I feel better than ever. I have scored my goals, made my assists and I feel like I have really contributed in every game. I have never been in this good shape physically or mentally. Could you imagine, at the age of 32, feeling that you have your best seasons yet to come? Its fantastic. Its a feeling that I never experienced before.
I have Paris Saint-Germain to thank for that.
I do love the city of Paris.
I do love Paris Saint Germain.
I feel like I have a responsibility towards the club, the fans and the city of Paris. Im not ready to let go of that responsibility just yet.
With this said, the obvious choice for me is to stay in Paris and Paris Saint Germain. Therefore I have taken the thoughtful decision to extend my contract with the club.
