Allyson Swaby: 'Very happy to be here'

Allyson, you join Paris Saint-Germain until the end of the season! What is your initial feeling?

"I am really excited to be here! It has been a long process, and I am really happy and can't wait to pull on my boots and head out onto the pitch with my new teammates. I am very happy to be here, in Paris, and I can't wait to play in front of our fans."

What does this city and club represent for you?

"I began to get to know the city thanks to my sister who lives in Paris, so I am lucky to be here at the same as her. And of course, Paris Saint-Germain is a very well-known club. I am really very happy to have signed for such a big club and brand."

Can you tell us about yourself? 

"I play at centre-back. I am known for my intense style of play, front footed defender. Previously, I spent three years in Italy, in a very technical and tactical league. I think that I am capable of playing in different styles. Most recently, I was in the USA, a league where the game is very quick and is now based on the transitions. I think that the fact that I have had the opportunity to experience different styles of play has really prepared me for this new challenge."

What are your objectives for the second half of this season?

"The fact that I am coming here and on a short-term contract clearly shows that I am here to perform, of course on a personal level, but also and more importantly, to help the team to win as many trophies as possible. That's the objective."
