What's on in February for Les Rouge et Bleu

After a month-long international break for the 2025 World Championship, competitions are gradually resuming in February. Between the championship, the Coupe de France and the Champions League, we take a look at what awaits Raul Gonzalez's men in the coming weeks.

Les Rouge et Bleu return home!

December was a particularly trying month for our Parisians. With four consecutive away games, Les Rouge et Bleu had to dig deep to keep up the pace. After the win against Cesson-Rennes (35-29, 1 December), David Balaguer warned of a series of "several difficult away games" and the importance of "staying focused during this period". Mission accomplished for Raul Gonzalez's men, who posted an impressive record of five wins in six games. A performance that enabled the capital club to consolidate second place in the EHF Champions League, book its ticket for the quarter-finals of the Coupe de France and remain level with Nantes, who lead the league thanks to a better head-to-head goal difference.

From now on, the opposite scenario awaits Paris in February. Counting the home game against Nantes last Saturday in the Coupe de France, Les Rouge et Bleu will play in front of their home crowd in four of the six matches scheduled for February. The Coubertin faithful will be treated to several gala matches in the coming weeks, all unmissable events, as the end of the season could be decided by the smallest of details.

In the Champions League, the future is being written now

Sitting second after ten matchdays thanks in particular to a victory away to Dinamo Bucharest to conclude the year (33-40), Paris have some crunch clashes on the cards in February. With three matches on the programme (out of the last four of the group stage), including two at home, Raul Gonzalez's men will be determined to collect as many points as possible. The capital club will start this final stretch by hosting Plock this Thursday at 20:45. Currently seventh in Group A, the Poles have no room for error if they want to keep up in the race for the play-offs.

Your tickets for the clash against Veszprém!

It's the same story for Fredericia, who will be hosting Les Rouge et Bleu a week later (19 February at 18:45). Lagging behind after ten matchdays, the only newcomer to the competition will play for their survival against the capital club. Finally, for the last group stage match at home, Paris will play host to current leaders Veszprém from Hungary (Thursday 27 February at 20:45). A gala fixture awaited by all Rouge et Bleu fans since the start of the season and which could well have top spot in the group at stake. All the ingredients are therefore in place to make this match an event not to be missed under any circumstances.

Exciting league duels

In addition to the Coupe de France and the Champions League, the league is also set to resume this week. On this occasion, our Les Rouge et Bleu will have a perilous trip to Dunkerque. It is always a close match, and will be an opportunity to observe the duel between the two top goalscorers in France: Tom Pelayo (120 goals) and Kamil Syprzak (101 goals). On 23 February (kick-off at 17:00), the Parisians will be back at home to challenge the solid Pays d'Aix team. Led by Joze Baznik (175 saves), no team has made more saves than the Provençaux at the halfway stage of the season. This should once again provide a great spectacle at Coubertin.
