Viran Morros: 'We just lacked a bit of cutting edge'

Viran Morros: 'We just lacked a bit of cutting edge' On Sunday afternoon Paris Saint-Germain Handball faced off against an excellent Skjern side in Velux EHF Champions League Round 5 action. Les Rouge et Bleu clinched the win late (24-26) to maintain their perfect start to the European season. Raul Gonzalez, Viran Morros and Kim Ekdahl du Rietz gave us their thoughts on a hard-fought encounter.

Raul Gonzalez (Paris Saint-Germain Handball coach):
"The match was a complicated one, as even though we played well, we had a hard time getting past their 'keeper. But I'm very happy with how we defended; we just needed to shoot a lot more. When we switched to having seven outfield players, we were better. I'm satisfied because we have won all our matches. Now we can begin our physical preparations for next week's match against Dunkerque."

Viran Morros (Paris Saint-Germain Handball left-back):
"It was very difficult for us. Skjern and their 'keeper were very good. We played well in defence and attack, but we just lacked a bit of cutting edge. We didn't start the second half as well as we would have liked, but we finished it well, with seven against six, which helped us to win it. We won and that's the most important thing."

Kim Ekdahl du Rietz (Paris Saint-Germain Handball left-back):
"We put ourselves in difficulty for no reason… if we had scored from every shot, the match would have been very different. We made their 'keeper look like the best in the world, and it almost cost us dearly! I'm very happy that we managed to get back into the match. It's tough when you have to chase the game."
