Thierry Omeyer: 'We didn't panic'

On Wednesday night, Paris Saint-Germain Handball won away to Tremblay (23-34) after a difficult first half in their Lidl Starligue Round 16 clash. Thierry Omeyer, Raul Gonzalez and Mikkel Hansen gave us their thoughts.

Raul Gonzalez (Paris Saint-Germain Handball coach):
"It was very complicated. In the first half, they were clearly the better side. We knew we needed to focus more, and I'm happy to say that the second half was much better. We made some errors one-on-one, but after that, our play improved. The players did all they could to get the win and they did a great job. We need to stay in top spot, so I'm very happy that we maintained our three-point lead in the standings."

Thierry Omeyer (Paris Saint Germain Handball 'keeper):

"We know that there's no such thing as an easy match and that you have put in the work to get the results. Tremblay were playing at home, in front of their fans, and they wanted to put on a good show. We didn't panic, even though we were behind at the break. We found solutions as our opponents began to tire. In attack, we started to shoot more effectively and that allowed us to widen the gap and put in an excellent performance, especially in the second half."

Mikkel Hansen (Paris Saint-Germain Handball left-back):

"Tremblay are a good side and derbies are never easy... I think we played really well in the final 25 minutes. In the first half, we missed a lot of shots and made errors in defence, but in the second, we corrected all that and played much more effectively."
