The 2019 World Cup is under way!

Paris Saint-Germain Handball have 12 players representing their respective countries at the the 2019 World Cup in Germany and Denmark from 10 to 27 January. Here's our overview of the group situations...

Group A

In Group A, we have a big Rouge et Bleu contingent: France's Nedim Remili, Luc Abalo and Luka Karabatic, as well as Germany captain Uwe Gensheimer, who will start the tournament off in a clash with Unified Korea on Thursday at 18:15 CET. The group is rounded out by Russia, Serbia and Brazil, who are the opening-match opponents for reigning World Champions Les Bleus, on Friday at 20:30 CET. Then clubmates will face off as France and Germany do battle on Tuesday, 15 January at 20:30 CET.

Group B
In Group B, we have Luka Stepancic's Croatia, who take on Rodrigo Corrales and Viran Morros' Spain in the final group-stage clash, on Thursday, 17 January. Before that, reigning European Champions La Roja will kick off their campaign against Bahrain, while earlier that evening, Croatia do battle with Iceland. Meanwhile Macedonia, coach by Raul Gonzalez, will start their campaign against Japan. Our coach will be up against his club charges on Monday, 14 January (Luka) and Wednesday 16 January (Viran and Rodrigo).

Group C
Even during the break, our players seem to find a way to keep hanging out with each other... Henrik Toft Hansen and Mikkel Hansen play together for Denmark, with whom they will be up against clubmate Sander Sagosen's Norway in Group D's headline clash on 17 January. Our Danes play their opening match against Chile on Thursday at 20:15 CET, while Sander will have to wait until Friday for the clash with Tunisia. Austria and Saudi Arabia round out the group.

Group D

There is just one Parisian in Group D: Sweden's Kim Ekdahl du Rietz. Runners-up at the last Euros, Sweden will do battle with Hongrie, Qatar, Argentina, Angola and Egypt. The Yellow and Blues open their campaign against Egypt on Friday at 20:30 CET.
