A host of awards for Les Rouge et Bleu

Despite the defeat to Barcelona (22-30), several Paris Saint-Germain Handball players were rewarded for their strong performances in the first leg of the EHF Champions League quarter-final.

ANDREAS SHINES AGAIN

Les Rouge et Bleu's last line of defence, Andreas Palicka, pulled off a number of fine saves. The Swedish goalkeeper managed to win 12 duels with the Catalan forward line, and some of them with points for style. Right at the start of the match, he sent Coubertin into raptures with a magnificent right-foot reflex save. It was a feat that earnt him a place in the top five Champions League saves of the week. In another category, Kamil Syprzak was also outstanding...

KAMIL POWERS ON

Kamil put in another fine performance. With seven goals from ten attempts, the Polish pivot was the match's top scorer (alongside Barcelona's Dika Mem). His splendid shot at the end of the game was particularly memorable. Off-balance as he took his chance, he managed to fire the ball in just under the bar - earning him a place in the top goals list for the first leg of the quarter-finals. The occasion also saw Kamil score his 600th European goal for Les Rouge et Bleu.
