Stefan Madsen, future coach of Paris Saint-Germain Handball
Paris Saint-Germain Handball is pleased to announce the signing of Stefan Madsen as head coach, as of 1 July 2025. Henrik Møllgaard, a former player of the Club (2015 -2018), will take on the role of assistant coach. The Danish duo has signed a two-season contract.
The next coach of Paris Saint-Germain Handball, Stefan Madsen, has a wealth of experience at club level. In charge of Aalborg Handball from 2018 to 2024, he led his team to two Champions League finals (2021, 2024), while winning four Danish league titles and two Danish Cups.
Currently coach of Egyptian side Al Ahly, the 48-year-old won the African Champions League last October, after winning the bronze medal in the World Club Championship against FC Barcelona.
In Paris, Stefan Madsen will be joined by Henrik Møllgaard as assistant coach. The Danish full-back, who wore the Rouge et Bleu jersey from 2015 to 2018, is playing his final season as a player with Aalborg and will join his former coach on the bench at the capital club.
A great defensive specialist, Henrik Møllgaard amassed one of the most impressive records in the history of handball, including two Olympic gold medals (2016, 2024) and three World Championship titles (2019, 2021, 2023).
With their shared history and complementary skills, the duo will be a pillar of this new cycle initiated by the Club. Their mission will be to lead Paris Saint-Germain Handball to new successes and to consolidate the team's performances at the highest European level over the years to come.
