Robin Dourte loaned to BM Valladolid

The pivot has moved to Spanish club Valladolid on a loan deal running through to June 2020. The capital club youth academy graduate remains under contact with Paris Saint-Germain Handball through to 2022.

Robin Dourte, who turns 21 on 30 June, played his first matches in the Lidl Starligue and the Velux EHF Champions League in the season just passed. He notably took part in 17 French league matches, scoring eight goals.

The 2.06m, 111kg pivot signed his first professional contract with Paris Saint-Germain Handball in February 2019. The Thionville-born player went on to win the Lidl Starligue title and the Coupe de la Ligue in 2019.

With France's youth teams, Robin Doute won the U19 World Cup in 2017 before clinching the silver medal at last summer's U20 Euros. This summer, he will take part in the U21 World Cup - in Spain from 15 to 28 July - alongside Paris Saint-Germain Handball clubmates Gauthier Ivah (goalkeeper) Edouard Kempf (right-winger).

"I'm very happy to be loaned to Valladolid, where I had a chance to meet the staff and the players," Robin Dourte declared. "This environment will be ideal for my development. It's a club that was recommended to me in the highest terms by coach Raul Gonzalez and his assistant Jésus Gonzalez. This season, I made the most of their assistance, as well as that of our two other pivots, Luka (Karabatic) and Henrik (Toft Hansen). I know that I have a lot to learn and this loan move will help me do just that."
