Quarter-final second leg results

This week saw the second legs of the EHF Champions League quarter-finals played. In addition to the match between Kiel and Paris Saint-Germain Handball (33-32), check out the other results.

BARCELONA-FLENSBURG: 27-24

FC Barcelona will defend their title at the Final4 in Cologne. The Blaugrana, who won the first leg in Flensburg, did it again at home, consolidating their lead from last week. Barcelona were less sharp and clinical than in the first leg, but they still did what was needed, thanks in particular to their French colony and right-back Dika Mem, who scored six goals.

AALBORG-VESZPREM: 37-35

Aalborg needed a big home win to book their place in Cologne, but unfortunately it was a bridge too far. The Danes won by only two goals more than Veszprém, although they should have won by at least eight. Veszprém will therefore be playing in their seventh Final4 and will be hoping to win a first European crown. To reach their goal, the Hungarian club will be able to count on French centre-half Kentin Mahé, who was once again in great form with six goals. Rasmus Lauge also scored six times.

KIELCE-MONTPELLIER: 30-22

There was no fairytale for Montpellier. Defeated in the first leg on their home court, the south-westerners needed to win in Kielce by four goals. But the suspense was killed in the first act, with the Poles a big lead (30': 15-8). Out of focus in attack and luckless from the penalty line, Montpellier struggled to find a way past a very good Andreas Wolf, who made 14 saves, making it difficult for the team to get back on track. Kielce will therefore travel to Cologne for the fifth time and will want to win a second Champions League after the one from 2015-2016.

DATE OF THE FINAL4 IN COLOGNE:

- Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 June
