Preview: Five things about Magdeburg - Paris

On Wednesday evening, Paris Saint-Germain Handball return to European action as they travel to the GETEC Arena in Magdeburg for their EHF Champions League Matchday 3 clash.

1 - THE TABLE

The Germans started their European adventure very well. With victories in Bucharest (28-30) and at home to Zagreb (35-25), they currently top Group A, thanks to a better goal difference (+12) than Veszprém (+9).

For their part, the capital club returned to winning ways in the Champions League. After an opening defeat in Veszprém (36-34), they unlocked their counter against Plock (37-33).

2- HITMEN FACE OFF

If we look at the ranking of the best scorers of the competition, we find Tim Hornke in third place. The Magdeburg right-winger has already found the net 15 times - from just 18 attempts (83% success rate). In the last match, he hit 11 out of 13.

Just behind him, there is a Parisian, in the person of Kamil Syprzak! Our Polish pivot has also scored 15 goals, from 19 attempts. The duel between the two looks promising!

3 - THE RETURN OF JANNICK

Jannick Green, who has been wearing Rouge et Bleu since the summer, now returns to his old stomping ground. The Danish goalkeeper played with SCM for eight seasons, during which time he won a German Championship title, a National Cup, a European League and a Club World Cup!

4 - ALMOST A FIRST

It's a first-ever EHF Champions League fixture that we're about to witness. However, the two teams have met before - in the third round of the EHF Cup back in 2004-05. The Germans won both games (25-30; 36-23).
