Group A results

On Wednesday, Paris Saint-Germain Handball took second place in EHF Champions League Group A following their fine win in Magdeburg (22-29). Check out the other results from the group on Matchday 3.

VESZPRÉM - BUCAREST: 33-30

Leaders with two wins in as many games, Vezprém hosted Bucharest on Wednesday afternoon. But the game wasn't all fun for the Hungarians, who were in fact trailing at the break (30': 15-17). However, they managed to raise their heads at the very beginning of the second half by inflicting a 4-0 on their opponent (36': 19-17). Once they took the lead, they never let it go and went on to win for the third time in a row. Rodrigo Corrales and his partners are now alone at the top of Group A, while the Romanians are seventh.

ZAGREB - PORTO: 29-23

On Wednesday, we also saw a duel between the only two teams in the group yet to get off the mark in Europe. The match was important for Zagreb, who hosted Porto. Led by an exceptional Timur Dibirov, with ten goals out of his 15 attempts, but also by Dino Slavic, who made 14 saves against the Portuguese strikers, the Croatians did an excellent job ands moved out of the red zone while Porto remain in bottom place.

WISLA PLOCK - GOG: 31-27

On Thursday, Plock confirmed their good start in the Champions League. Although they were beaten at the Stade Pierre de Coubertin a week ago (37-33), the Poles remain in the top half of the table after their victory over GOG. The Danes also got off to an interesting start with a win and a draw in the first two games. But, despite Jerry Tollbring's 7 from 7, the visitors were unable to get the better of the hosts. The latter are fourth, with the same number of points as Magdeburg and Paris. GOG are just behind on three points.
