Preview: 5 things about Paris - Porto

On Thursday afternoon, Paris Saint-Germain Handball play host to Porto on EHF Champions League Matchday 6. The objective will be to continue the good European series.

1 - THE TABLE

Les Rouge et Bleu are the group's form team at the moment! Despite their opening defeat (in Veszprém, 36-34), they are on a four-game winning streak and are well placed in the race for the top two spots in the group (which qualify directly for the quarter-finals) as they are only one point behind leaders Veszprém.

It's just the opposite for the Portuguese, who still haven't managed to get off the mark in European this season. Ad they head to the Stade Pierre de Coubertin, they occupy bottom place in Group A after five defeats from as many matches.

2 - HOME COMFORTS

After several away games, Paris will enjoy home comforts for a spell. Against Porto, Raul Gonzalez's men will be playing the first of four consecutive home games that span the Champions League, the Liqui Moly StarLigue and the Coupe de France!

3 - PRESTIGIOUS PRECEDENT

The last confrontation between the two teams at the Stade Pierre de Coubertin went the way of our players (33-19). They turned in a first half close to perfection and led 18-4 at the break, thanks in particular to an excellent Vincent Gérard. The French international went off after half-time having made nine saves at 60%!

4 - HEAD TO HEAD

Paris and Porto are facing each other for the seventh time on the European stage. While the first confrontation, on 17 November 2007, went the way of Porto (30-23), the capital club claimed victory the next six times in a row.
