Group A results (22)

Victorious against Porto (32-30), Paris Saint-Germain Handball did their standing in Group A plenty of good in EHF Champions League Matchday 6. Check out the 1st of the results!

ZAGREB - BUCAREST: 28-29

All the games this week were suspenseful, exciting affairs, and the one between Zagreb and Bucharest was no exception. With 30 seconds more, the outcome of the game could have been quite different. In fact, at the buzzer, the two teams were still neck and neck (28-28) and it took a triumphant penalty from Andrii Akimenko to close the game and see the Romanians pocket two points. They sit fifth, while the Croats remain in the drop zone.

PLOCK - VESZPRÉM: 26-30

The duel was also very intense in Plock, where the Polish side were host leaders Veszprém. The home team almost caused an upset and were three goals to the good with 20 minutes to go (40': 20-17), but faced with an imperious Rodrigo Corrales (ten saves), they had a long dry spell that allowed the Hungarians to turn things around (44': 20-21). The match was then under control, right through to the end of the game, and the leaders duly held on to confirm top spot. Plock, meanwhile, sit sixth.

GOG - MAGDEBURG: 33-32

There was no shortage of goals on Thursday night as GOG played host to Magdeburg. The Germans could have set the Danes four points adrift with a win, but Emil Madsen decided otherwise! The 21-year-old right back scored a last-second goal to give GOG a valuable win that saw them go level on seven points with their opponents on the night. Paris are now alone in second place, three points ahead of their nearest rivals.
