Preview: 5 things about Nantes - Paris

On Wednesday evening, Paris Saint-Germain Handball will play their last match of 2022. On this occasion, it is another crunch clash that awaits. In Liqui Moly StarLigue Round 15, Paris travel to the Neodif XXL to take on arch-rivals Nantes.

1 - THE TABLE

The H are having a great season and are not far off top spot; they are only two points behind leaders Montpellier, whom they managed to beat on the southwest (29-30) back in Round 2.

Les Rouge et Bleu's record is identical, with 12 wins and two losses after 14 games. After their trip to Montpellier (31-30), they are one again travelling to take on a direct title competitor.

2 - KEY STATIS

Once again, the league's best attack (Paris, with 486 goals) will challenge a very solid defence. The H's rearguard is the second-tightest in the Liqui Moly StarLigue, with just 470 goals conceded. Without the absent Kamil Syprzak (85 goals), Raul Gonzalez's men will have to rely in part on the form of Elohim Prandi (85 goals) to put the Nantes rearguard to the test.

Note that Nantes will be without one of their two starting goalkeepers, Viktor Hallgrimsson. To compensate for his injury absence, former Sporting Lisbon 'keeper Manuel Gaspar has been recruited as a wild card. Ivan Pesic (91 saves), meanwhile, has made his return.
