Preview: 5 things about Kielce - Paris

It's time for a massive clash! On Wednesday afternoon, Paris Saint-Germain Handball take part in EHF Champions League Matchday 3 - and it's no easy task awaiting the capital club as they take on Kielce in the Hala Legionow.

1 - THE TABLE

After an opening-day defeat on home soil against Aalborg (31-34), the Polish team bounced back well last week. The Yellow and Blue travelled to Pelister and left Macedonia with two points (30-32). With one win and one defeat, they are currently fifth in Group A.

Raul Gonzalez's men have a slightly better record. They kicked off their European campaign with a solid win over Szeged (29-31), before defeating Zagreb (35-31) at the Stade Pierre de Coubertin. The capital club are one of three teams in the group (along with Aalborg and Kiel) to have won their opening two games.

2 - PARIS DEFEND WELL...

Be it in Szeged or at home to Zagreb, the two Parisian goalkeepers responded perfectly. Jannick Green kept out nine shots in Hungary, while Andreas Palicka did the same last week against the Croatians. In fact, our team has the fourth-best goalkeeper pairing in the Champions League, with 23 shots saved. Kielce, meanwhile, are tenth, with 20 saves.

3 - ...AND SCORE TOO!

Les Rouge et Bleu have already proved their attacking strength in two matches. They have racked up 66 goals in Europe so far, making them the third-best attack in the competition (only Danish sides Aalborg and GOG have scored more). But the Poles are not far behind in this respect, having found the net 63 times since the start of the competition. Both teams owe these fine figures to two top scorers, Kamil Syprzak (14 goals) and Szymon Sicko (16).

4 - HEAD TO HEAD

It's a match-up we're used to seeing in the Champions League. The two teams are meeting for the 13th time, and so far Paris have a slight advantage, with seven wins to five defeats.
