Preview: 5 things about Chambéry - Paris

Paris Saint-Germain Handball travel to Chambéry on Sunday as part of Liqui Moly Starligue Round 8. Les Rouge et Bleu will be aiming to continue their unbeaten start to the league season before heading into the international break.

1. THE TABLE

With the quarter-way mark of the season approaching, Chambéry are falling short of their objectives. In ninth place, five points off the European places, the Savoyards have not had a particularly good start to the season. After trips to face Nîmes and Montpellier in the first two rounds of the season and the visit of Nantes in Round 7, Chambéry will have faced last season's top five in the first eight games, once they have faced Paris on Sunday.

Les Rouge et Bleu, meanwhile, are off to an ideal start to the season, with seven wins from as many games. Still joint-top of the table with Montpellier, the capital club will be looking to continue their unblemished run in a match that will probably have a whiff of revenge about it for the Parisians, who lost by a narrow margin at Le Phare in March (34-33).

2. CONFIRMATION BEFORE THE BREAK

After the trip to Chambéry comes the first international break of the season. Four of our Parisians will represent Les Bleus in a warm-up match against Romania on 4 November. Elohim Prandi and Mathieu Grébille will accompany the Karabatic brothers and will be keen to continue their good start to the season before returning to the home of handball in the coming days. Elohim Prandi has made an excellent start to the season, scoring nine goals in last week's 46-31 win over Saran. Luc Steins (Netherlands), Ferran Sole Sala (Spain), Dominik Mathé (Hungary) and Kent Robin Tonnesen (Norway) will also represent their national teams.

3. SAVOIE'S ATTACKING SECTOR IN TROUBLE

In addition to their defeats in the clashes at Nîmes (31-29), Montpellier (32-26) and against Nantes (25-39), the Savoyards are struggling in front of goal. Despite the departure of Jean-Loup Faustin to Dunkerque, Team Chambé is the only team not to have had any reinforcements this summer. Hampered by a number of injuries, Chambéry have the third-weakest attack in the league and, after seven rounds, are the only team yet to break the 30-goal barrier in a match.

4. HEAD TO HEAD

Parisians and Chambéry have faced each other 21 times in the Liqui Moly Starligue and, although the Savoyards won once last season, the capital club have dominated proceedings with 17 wins to three defeats and one draw.
