David Balaguer: 'We knew how important this match was'

Read the reactions from Raul Gonzalez, David Balaguer and captain Lucas Karabatic after the victory over Chambéry in Liqui Moly Starligue Round 8 (26-34).

RAUL GONZALEZ (PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN HANBDALL COACH)

"I'm very happy because it's always a complicated away game in Chambéry. Last season, we lost here. I think we controlled the match from start to finish and it's great to be able to play like that. It'll give us a boost of confidence after losing to Kiel on Thursday. Now it's time for the break. We'll have to see what happens to those who are in the national team. As for the others, they can continue to train and rest."

LUKA KARABATIC (PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN HANDBALL PIVOT AND CAPTAIN)

"I'm very happy with the result and what we produced. We know that this is a crucial match in the race for the title. They have a very good team and a great crowd. We put in a very good performance straight away and deserved our win by leading the whole game. We were able to take advantage of the defeat against Kiel to get that extra desire and motivation. We didn't want to lose twice in a row, and that's what enabled us to be aggressive enough to put in a good performance.

DAVID BALAGUER (PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN HANDBALL RIGHT WINGER)

"We knew how important this match was, away against a very good team. It was marked in red on the calendar, and we remember what happened here last season, so we wanted to give everything to win. I think we've had a good first two months. We suffered two defeats in the EHF Champions League, but that doesn't mean we haven't had a good first third of the season. We're satisfied and we'll have to keep up the good work after the break.
