Preview: 5 things about Chambéry - Paris

On Sunday afternoon, Paris Saint-Germain Handball take part in Liqui Moly StarLigue Round 19 action - a tough match at Le Phare in Chambéry.

1 - THE TABLE

The Savoyards are having a great season. Currently in fourth place, they could move back to within five points of the podium if they win against Les Rouge et Bleu. They have now gone six games without defeat.

For their part, Les Rouge et Bleu are looking to keep pace with leaders Montpellier. With a win, they would draw level on points, but would remain second for the moment, because of an inferior goal difference (-1).

2 - KEY STATS

We should see a nice striker's duel between Chambéry right-winger Benjamin Richert (112 goals) and our left-back Elohim Prandi (108). Thanks in part to them, their attacks have scored 536 and 638 goals respectively.

Defensively, Chambéry are very strong! With only 507 goals conceded, our future opponents boast one of the best back-lines in the league. The Parisians, on the other hand, have seen their nets shake 543 times. When it comes to goalkeepers, the two sides are also neck and neck, with Andreas Palicka having made 150 saves compared to Filip Ivic's 151.

3 - A LOOK BACK AT THE FIRST MATCH

At the beginning of November, Paris and Chambéry faced each other at the Stade Pierre de Coubertin. The battle was tough (48': 28-27) but our team made the difference in the final minutes of the game (36-32). Key were Dainis Kristopans' 7 from 7 and Jannick Green's 11 saves.

4 - HEAD TO HEAD

This is the 35th meeting between the clubs. So far, the Parisians have won 21 times, drawn twice and lost 11 times. Les Rouge et Bleu have won three times in a row against the Savoyards, Arun that started after their 32-32 draw at Le Phare in May 2021.
